Question of the day!

If you only had one quarter, and no cell phone, who would you call?

Everyone remembers their first time...

Erin made me take my first wheat grass shot. She said I did better than she thought I would! At least I didn't throw up.

What To Do When It Snows

BAKE!

We found everything we needed for Oreo Brownies and Banana Bread (the Starbucks recipe)

The brownies are always a good baking warm up because you can buy the brownie mix and cookies.  The only work involved is adding water, oil, eggs, and dipping the cookies.  Here, I'll show you.

Bake at 350 for 20-27 minutes

Then, it's important to take a break and fix the sink you just broke.

BACK TO BAKING!!

Banana Walnut Bread

2 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 egg
1 1/8 c sugar
1/2 c vegetable oil
2 Tbsp buttermilk
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
3 ripe medium-large bananas
1/2 cup walnuts

Pre-heat the oven to 325
Grease bread pan
Blend together flour, baking soda and salt and set aside
Mix together egg, sugar and oil
Mash bananas

Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients

Add bananas, buttermilk and vanilla

Pour batter into greased pan and bake for 60 minutes.
After the oven door is closed with the bread safely inside,
DO NOT OPEN THE OVEN

Gorge-ous!

A visit to the Royal Gorge...

The world's highest suspension bridge which spans the Arkansas River at a height of 1053 feet! Aubrey, accompanied by Eric, Austin (her brother) and her Mom got to explore their vertical limits on a Sunday afternoon that couldn't have been more beautiful of a late October day! After walking the quarter mile across the bridge, the next adventure that awaited them was the Royal Rush Skycoaster! Imagine free falling momentarily over a thousand foot canyon, going 50 mph, with nothing but a beautiful view to enjoy while flying through the air. Talk about an adrenaline rush! That was the highlight of the trip by far.

After the thrilling sky coaster ride, it was on to one of the worlds largest single-span aerial tram! Not for queasy stomachs! ;)

To end the trip was a ride on the incline railway. At a 45 degree angle we were surrounded by the granite walls, that made me feel like sucking in to prevent the canyon walls from squeezing me ;) We made our decent down into the 1,500 feet to the canyon floor where we got to look up at the "Worlds largest suspension bridge" that suddenly didn't look so mighty, more like tiny delicate match sticks arranged neatly across the canyon walls.

All in all, the Royal Gorge gave great scenic beauty and an adventure I'll never forget!

Man's Best Friend, Nellie

At Approximately 4:45 this afternoon Nellie found peace.

He is my other eyes that can see above the clouds; my other ears that hear above the winds. He is the part of me that can reach out into the sea. He has told me a thousand times over that I am his reason for being; by the way he rests against my leg; by the way he thumps his tail at my smallest smile; by the way he shows his hurt when I leave without taking him. (I think it makes him sick with worry when he is not along to care for me.)

When I am wrong, he is delighted to forgive. When I am angry, he clowns to make me smile. When I am happy, he is joy unbounded. When I am a fool, he ignores it. When I succeed, he brags. Without him, I am only another man. With him, I am all-powerful. He is loyalty itself.

He has taught me the meaning of devotion. With him, I know a secret comfort and a private peace. He has brought me understanding where before I was ignorant.

His head on my knee can heal my human hurts. His presence by my side is protection against my fears of dark and unknown things. He has promised to wait for me... whenever... wherever — in case I need him. And I expect I will — as I always have. He is just my dog.
Gene Hill

I love you, best friend.

It's the cool thing to do!

One day, Aubrey and Erin Decided that it was about time one of them, the one with a job, to buy a longboard.  They searched and searched but not quite as much searching as that implies and found the perfect one!  Finally they could be the cool kids that knew how to balance on a board and four wheels! Aubrey went first and was very successful, an instant pro.  Erin upon stepping on the board for the first time, slipped and her foot fell right off.  Erin must not have known that her foot had fallen off, otherwise she would have been peeved about spending all that money on that awesome tattoo.  She merely made jokes and hit on the paramedics and firefighters... especially the one with the mustache.

A thing of beauty gone wrong

They started out so beautiful :(  I can just imagine opening this package myself; where does this chick get the time to create such a wonderful thing!?  Never did I imagine I would be sending two buckets of poo.  Haha poor boys.
