Gorge-ous!

A visit to the Royal Gorge...

The world's highest suspension bridge which spans the Arkansas River at a height of 1053 feet! Aubrey, accompanied by Eric, Austin (her brother) and her Mom got to explore their vertical limits on a Sunday afternoon that couldn't have been more beautiful of a late October day! After walking the quarter mile across the bridge, the next adventure that awaited them was the Royal Rush Skycoaster! Imagine free falling momentarily over a thousand foot canyon, going 50 mph, with nothing but a beautiful view to enjoy while flying through the air. Talk about an adrenaline rush! That was the highlight of the trip by far.

After the thrilling sky coaster ride, it was on to one of the worlds largest single-span aerial tram! Not for queasy stomachs! ;)

To end the trip was a ride on the incline railway. At a 45 degree angle we were surrounded by the granite walls, that made me feel like sucking in to prevent the canyon walls from squeezing me ;) We made our decent down into the 1,500 feet to the canyon floor where we got to look up at the "Worlds largest suspension bridge" that suddenly didn't look so mighty, more like tiny delicate match sticks arranged neatly across the canyon walls.

All in all, the Royal Gorge gave great scenic beauty and an adventure I'll never forget!
