The road to England is a hard one

Sending cookies to England is no easy task.  I don't even know what I could have done differently to make sure they were delivered...hmm.  So I'm sorry Scot that you never got to eat the wonderfulness that is my cookies when you were so far away from home.  Maybe next time.

We chose the most snug box we could find.  I have no idea how this happened.

Why do they call it the big apple?

It all has to do with horses, jazz musicians and tourists. Look it up.

I went to New York!!!  It was wonderful and amazing and every other synonym for great.  I took all these pictures, knowing full well that they weren't going to impress anyone.  So here are my unimpressive pictures of my very first solo vacation.  Please enjoy them with a sense of humor, cause thats how they were taken!

This be my best friend Holly.  She's my best friend.
Holly, Mary, Magan and Gabbi live in Borough Park, Brooklyn.
It's one of the largest orthodox Jewish communities outside of Israel.
These are just a sampling of the graffiti visible from the D train.

Mary and I went to Grand Central Station and messed around for a good while.

The best part you ask?  Going up a flight of stairs that we definitely were't supposed to. Getting on an elevator we weren't supposed to and then climbing the stairs all the way to to the top, where we were't supposed to be.
Grand Central bathroom :)
Statue on top
Mary really wanted her picture taken with the statue.  So I sat my butt down and granted her wish.

On our search for a photo booth, we came across these totally rad paintings.

This one's my favorite.  Abe is the coolest.

After many hours of searching we found it!  It was the coolest one I've been in yet.  who wouldn't want 2 chances to re-take each picture???  We didn't use them though.  We are pro at photo booth.
We rode the train to meet up with Holly to put our names in the Book of Mormon lottery.  No luck.
Not seeing a show didn't completely ruin our night, because we got to wander  around Time Square.

It's hard to know what to take pictures of.  There are so many things and sounds and people.

I'd never seen a pink limo before.  I don't like it.

We went into this restaurant just looking for some simple grub.
We looked at the menu for approximately 12 minutes trying to decide if 26 dollars for
a sandwich and fries was worth it.  It's wasn't.  Eating on 42nd st isn't cool.
Instead we walked around for a bit and found a place called Glass House Tavern.

Finally my picture people skills have a real world use!  This was a moving picture advertising disney.Yeah that's right, I caught that girl kissing flounder.

I am 5 years old.  I insisted that we spend time in the time square Toys R Us,
but it didn't take much convincing because  Holly is also 5.
When it was finally our turn to ride this ferris wheel of dreams, we were hoping to either be in the Nickelodeon car (with Jimmy Neutron and Tommy Pickles) or the Mystery Machine (with Shaggy and Scooby)
We rode in the Barbie car.  Fail.

This is a lego model of King Kong on the Empire State Building.
This is my favorite picture from the whole trip.  I love me some Holly.

Name that game.

Got a text from Aubrey containing this rad picture.  Of course I'll work open to close if I can just be in New York.
New Yorkers rave about this place as having the best burger in town.   I didn't have enough evidence, so I didn't eat there.
I sure didn't.

This is pizza.
This is Gabbi making her small face on the train.
Holly's small face.
Spencer's small face.
Holly's small face.
Mary's small face.
This is sushi.
On our way to Central Park :)
We went into Dean and Deluca just so I could see it and came out with pumpkin ravioli and...
passion fruit and pear chocolates.
This is the one picture I took in MOMA.  As soon as I took it I got yelled at for using my flash.
After this picture I went and sat with Holly and the little girl on top said, "a homeless person could live here!"

Mary works at the Lincoln center which is right next to Juilliard.

By far my favorite part of my trip was Reverend Jen's Troll Museum.   A must see (by appointment) if you are looking for  something a little different.
